Our gooseneck ball simply drops through the removable safety chain attachment plate into a frame-mounted socket base where a spring-loaded pin locks it in place. It's there when you need it, and when you don't, just pop it out from inside your truck box. Meanwhile, a plastic, flush fitting plug replaces the ball when it's not in use, keeping the receiver socket clean.
